The Cavalier received the LD9 2.4 litre engine in 1996, which has 150 horsepower with 155 ft-lbs of torque. The Z24 was dropped in 2003, and LS sports line took its place with a Ecotec L61 engine, which produces 140 horsepower and 150 ft-lbs of torque.
